A Guide to Racing at Hampton Court MYC
1. Club radio races start at 11.00am. Please ensure that you are at the lakeside a few minutes beforehand to allow a prompt start.
2. Open events usually start with a Race Officer briefing at 09.45hrs.
3. Check to ensure that your name and sail number is/has been added to the score sheet (clipped to the metal clipboard kept on the shelf of the race trolley).
4. When there is no-one specifically recording scores, the skipper of the first boat finishing in each race must record the scores for that race – remember your finishing position just in case there is a problem.
5. Lunch break is normally between 12.30 – 1.00pm.
6. Racing should finish about 14.30hrs – this is, of course, weather dependant.
7. Please assist as far as you can with taking the race box and starter to and from the lakeside. Again, if you are able, please assist with the launching and recovery of the rescue dinghy and the laying and recovery of the race marker buoys.
8.THE IMPORTANT THING IS TO HAVE FUN. As a club we strive to help and support all members, experienced or otherwise.
9. Class abbreviations now used in the Sailing Programme

10. Allocation of Club Trophies
In 2016, all Club radio races of each class and day will be scored over the year under two 6 monthly points series (Spring Series [Jan – Jun] and
Autumn Series [Jul – Dec]). The current handicap system for each class will not be used in 2016 but the situation for the 2017 programme
will be reviewed towards the end of the 2016 season. Trophies currently allocated for handicap winners will now be allocated to the Autumn
Series for each class and day and the trophies currently allocated for points winners will now be allocated to the Spring Series for each class
and day.
