Last Saturday, 9th August, a crew of HCMYC members took to the Solent aboard  Colin Trower's cruiser in a race to the Nab Tower and back. Unfortunately  the wind died within an hour of the start and left the crew of Colin, Peter Townsend, Dave Andrews and Duncan Blair drifting precariously in the main shipping channel. Whilst power would normally give way to sail, they were forced to start their engine to clear a cross-channel ferry bearing down on them, which in turn led to early retirement from the race. Despite this the wind filled in to provide a good sail home.
