Sixteen skippers from 8 different clubs enjoyed a great day's racing - the moderate breeze was from the SW enabling a standard "triangle and sausage" course to be laid with long beats which made for challenging sailing. By lunchtime it became clear that Terry King of Windrush RYC, sailing a 'BritPop', was the man to beat. The next 5 skippers battled it out for the other top places and at the close of racing, Terry was a clear winner with Martin Crysell of Guildford MYC, sailing a 'Picanto', narrowly taking second place from John Shorrock of Reading SC, sailing a 'BritPop'. The Club's thanks go to the PRO, Laurie Bower and his race team of Peter Smith, Colin Boulding, Geoff Jones and Paul Firth for their work in ensuring a successful and most enjoyable day's racing which has, so far, raised over £200 for "Momentum", the Club's chosen charity.
