Vintage RA Racing - The Wyeth Trophy 2013
Discussions between the vintage/classic vane sailors have been taking place over the past 12
months as to the best way forward in order to keep racing their boats without any heart attacks  This initial race is hopefuly the answer and will the first of many. There were 6 members sailing with 5 boats so sharing was a requirement. Those present were Graham Wyeth, Dave Andrews, John Gale, Anthony Warren, Graham Reeves, Alan Oxlade and Duncan Blair. Sailing was on the match race system and 10 races were completed. Due to teething problems with 2 of the newly converted boats and various skippers sailing different boats the scores were disregarded. The boats sailing were:- 'Braemar' (No. 1034), 'Skye' (No. 14), 'Sunflower' (No. 71) all to Dick Priest's Highlander design and 'Yeoman' (K 637), Dick Priests first A class and winner of the 1952 A Class Nationals. The fifth boat without a sail number was sailed by Graham Wyeth. No information as to the design was available. If you have a classic A, vane or radio and want to sail please let Colin Trower and Graham Reeves know. If you want assistance or specialist parts to convert your boat to radio let Graham Reeves know. He has a small supply of specialist components which are not readilly available.   Graham Reeves
